Kimley-Horn Civil Engineer - Aviation in Las Vegas, Nevada

This individual will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for a local Aviation practice. This individual will also be provided the support to develop and grow their own projects and clients and team around them.

This person will be responsible for leading the business development effort, managing relationships with key clients and leading/completing project tasks. Markets are not limited by geography but driven by relationships. The successful candidate will have a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.

Primary duties include:

  • Review design documents & drawings for airside and landside Aviation projects, including grading, drainage, pavement design, specifications, and construction safety plans

  • Collaborating and/or coordinating design teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians

  • AutoCAD Civil 3D design

  • Lead, support, and delegate work to project team.

  • Support planning and design of airport projects as requested

  • Prepare analysis reports in support of airport planning, design, and construction

  • Supervise and coordinate the work product of Analysts and other technical staff on various transportation/aviation engineering projects.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have 10+ years of experience within airport design and construction.

  • Possess active PE License

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.

  • Experience managing projects and working with clients

  • Ability to train and develop more junior staff

Leadership responsibilities include:

  • Operating with integrity and sound business principals

  • Providing practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals

  • Building and maintaining positive client relationships

  • Open communication with partners and team, along with growing and directing a roadway practice

  • Recruiting and helping grow our team in Nevada and across the firm

Management responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Establishing and cultivating client relationships

  • Identifying and tracking leads

  • Making presentations

  • Writing proposals and scope of work

  • Establishing budgets,

  • Ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables, and supervising the execution of work
